“Anakolla Tea Trails”, a tranquil tea estate with an Artisanal Tea Factory, is situated in Pupuressa, at an elevation of 1122m amsl, in a isolated range in the Kandy district of Sri Lanka. Situated in a unique location in the border of the up-country, surrounded and belongs to four Agro-Ecological Regions of the wet zone up-country 2a and 2b and wet zone mid-country 2a and 2b, in sequence as well as interconnected to each other. Mostly experienced by the South West Monsoonal rains and less experienced by the North East monsoonal rains provide natural favorable environmental conditions. Anakolla exists in a region where Carbon footprints are minimal and the frequent variations of weather patterns such as moisture concentrations, cool winds, the intensity of sunlight and day & night temperature fluctuations of the area, tend to improve the flavor and quality of Anakolla Teas.
Our teas are strictly hygienically produced using leaves from plants grown in an isolated area of the estate by traditional methodologies such as tat withering, attentive rolling, manual roll breaking, hand winnowing, handpicking, manual grading etc. Maximal man power and minimal mechanization leads to low carbon footprints.
